Frenectomy
A frenectomy is a surgical procedure that focuses on the removal of a frenulum, which is a dense connective tissue membrane that attaches to your lips and gums. If your frenulum has a long attachment, it can create and affect spacing in between the teeth, form a tissue pull that can lead to recession, and in some instances it can lead to restrictive lip movement that may affect your ability to smile. At Deluxe Dentistry, we concentrate on lip frenectomies and do not perform tongue tie surgeries. Often, lip frenectomies may be performed in conjunction with crown lengthening or tissue grafting procedures.
