Why patients choose us
Fixed the Same Day by the Doctor Who Places Implants
Elsewhere, an implant problem can bounce between the dentist who made the crown and the surgeon who placed the post. At Deluxe Dentistry & Esthetics, Dr. Maxim Godko places implants on Swiss-engineered TRI and Neodent GM (Straumann Group) systems and restores and repairs them himself.
Digital x-rays or a 3D CT scan show whether it is the crown, the abutment or the post, and only that part is secured, repaired or replaced, at the same visit when possible.
The crown
The custom tooth you see and chew with.
The abutment
The connector between the crown and the post.
The implant post
Anchored in your jawbone. It should never move.

Choose the closest match to see what it means, what to do right now and how it’s fixed.
What it means
Every implant has three parts: the post in the bone, the abutment connector and the crown. Any movement means one of them needs attention.
Do this now
- 1 Chew on the other side.
- 2 If the crown comes off, keep it in a clean container.
- 3 Call for a same-day visit.
How it’s fixed
Imaging pinpoints the part involved, the screws are checked, and the crown is secured, repaired or replaced.
Why it happens
What Causes a Dental Implant Emergency
Titanium dental implants are the gold standard, with up to a 95% success rate. When something does go wrong, it is usually one of these, and most of them are fixed without replacing the implant.
A loosened screw
The small screw holding the crown or abutment can work loose under chewing force. It is the most common implant problem, and one of the easiest to fix.
Grinding and heavy biting
Clenching overloads the screw and the bone around the post, and can chip or crack the crown.
Peri-implant infection
Plaque left around the implant inflames the gum and, if it reaches the bone, loosens the post. Bleeding is the early warning.
Smoking
Smoking slows healing and raises the risk of infection and bone loss around implants.
A blow to the mouth
A fall or sports injury can crack an implant crown or damage the post and the bone around it.
Bone that didn’t fuse
Rarely, a new implant doesn’t bond with the bone. It is removed, the site heals, and a new implant is planned.

FAQ
Dental implant emergency questions, answered
An implant has three parts: the post in the bone, the abutment connector and the crown. A crown or screw that has loosened is the usual cause, and it is a straightforward fix. Digital x-rays or a 3D CT scan show exactly which part is moving, so only that part is repaired.
Keep the crown in a clean container, chew on the other side and call for a same-day visit. Don’t glue it or push it back on yourself: the screw and connection are checked first, then the crown is secured or replaced.
A post that moves in the bone is seen the same day. Dr. Godko evaluates the bone with a 3D CT scan, removes the implant if it has failed, and plans the replacement, with bone grafting in-house when the site needs it. You leave with aftercare instructions, and a follow-up visit is scheduled.
Red, swollen or tender gum around the implant, bleeding when you brush, pus, a bad taste or pain that keeps building. That is peri-implant disease, and catching it early is how the implant is kept.
Healthy gum around an implant doesn’t bleed. Bleeding is the first sign of inflammation, which is treated with a professional cleaning before it reaches the bone. Book a visit rather than waiting for your next checkup.
A crown or screw that has shifted, a crack in the crown or inflammation around the post can change your bite. Stop chewing on it and come in: the bite and the screw are checked and corrected.
Yes. Dr. Maxim Godko places implants on Swiss-engineered TRI and Neodent GM (Straumann Group) implant systems and restores and repairs them himself, so the crown, the abutment and the post are handled in one office.
Yes. Full-arch teeth are screwed to the implant posts, so only the office removes them, and you are never left without teeth while yours is repaired or replaced.
It depends on which part needs attention: tightening a screw, a new crown or a new implant. If the implant itself has to be replaced, a single dental implant is priced starting at $3,199, including the implant, the abutment and the crown. You see the cost before treatment. We work with your insurance to ensure you receive the maximum benefit. 0% financing through Cherry is available.
