Why patients choose us

Out Today, by the Doctor Who Examined It. No Oral Surgeon Referral.

Many emergency pages promise fast help, then send the extraction itself to an oral surgeon: another consultation, another fee and another wait. At Deluxe Dentistry & Esthetics, Dr. Maxim Godko examines the tooth, removes it and gives your sedation himself, in the same visit.

Other offices claim 24 hours, but at 2 a.m. you reach an answering service that passes your message on in the morning. With us, leave a message any time: emergency messages are handled first when the office opens, and we call you first thing.

Where to go

Call Us, or Go to the ER?

Most tooth emergencies are ours to fix the same day. A few belong in a hospital first.

Call us now

  • Severe or throbbing tooth pain
  • A tooth broken below the gum or too loose to keep
  • A swollen gum or a bump by the tooth
  • A wisdom tooth that hurts and swells

Call 911 or go to the ER

  • Trouble breathing or swallowing
  • Swelling spreading toward the eye or neck
  • Bleeding that won’t stop with firm pressure
  • A serious injury to the face or jaw

While you wait

  • Cold compress on the cheek, 20 minutes on and off
  • Warm salt-water rinse, a teaspoon in eight ounces
  • Bite gently on gauze if it bleeds
  • Don’t pull the tooth or drain a swelling yourself

Extraction only when a filling, crown or root canal can’t restore the tooth.

The last resort

Saved if It Can Be, Removed if It Can’t

A natural tooth is worth keeping when it can be saved, so a filling, crown or root canal comes first whenever it will restore the tooth.

Decay below the gumline, a split root, an infection that won’t clear or a tooth too loose to support: those are the reasons a tooth comes out, and when one applies, it comes out the same day.

  • Digital x-rays before any decision
  • Root canals done in-house
  • Every option explained long term
  • Replacement planned before you leave

FAQ

Emergency tooth extraction questions, answered

Saving it comes first. Dr. Godko examines the tooth with digital x-rays and tells you plainly whether a filling, crown or root canal will restore it. When the decay, fracture or infection has gone too far for the tooth to be restored, it comes out the same day.

Dr. Maxim Godko performs every simple and surgical extraction himself, in-house, including impacted wisdom teeth. Oral surgery is one of Deluxe Dentistry & Esthetics’ own service lines, so there is no referral, no second consultation and no wait for a surgery date.

When the tooth can’t be saved, yes: removing it takes away the source of the infection. Swelling that is spreading toward the eye or neck, or that makes it hard to breathe or swallow, is a medical emergency, so call 911 or go to the ER first.

Not on their own. Antibiotics don’t remove the source of a tooth infection, so the tooth itself has to be treated, with a root canal or an extraction. Dr. Godko decides whether a prescription is part of your care.

Call us first for tooth pain, a broken tooth or a swollen gum. A hospital ER treats breathing problems, uncontrolled bleeding and serious facial injuries, but it doesn’t pull teeth, so you would be sent to a dentist afterward anyway.

The tooth is fully numbed with local anesthesia first, so you feel pressure, not sharp pain. Nitrous oxide, oral sedation or IV sedation is available if you prefer it, and Dr. Godko gives it himself.

Yes. Nitrous oxide, oral sedation and IV sedation are all given in-house by Dr. Godko, who is certified in all three. With oral or IV sedation, someone drives you home, so mention it when you call.

It depends on whether the extraction is simple or surgical, on sedation and on whether a graft is placed, and you see the cost before anything is done. We work with your insurance to ensure you receive the maximum benefit, and 0% financing through Cherry is available.

Typically, yes. With same-day dental implants, the tooth comes out and the implant goes in at the same visit, and you leave with your new teeth the same day. When a graft is needed, it is typically placed at the same visit too. A single implant is available starting at $3,199, including the implant, the abutment and the crown.
