Treatment of the inside of the tooth: the pulp and the root canals. It covers root canal treatment, retreatment of a tooth treated before, apicoectomy (root-end surgery) when appropriate, emergency root canals, pulpotomy for fast pain relief, care for cracked and injured teeth, and rebuilding a treated tooth with a post, a core and a crown.

An endodontist is a dentist with extra training in root canals, and endodontic practices typically send you back to your own dentist for the crown. At Deluxe, Dr. Maxim Godko performs root canal therapy in-house, so the diagnosis, the treatment, any sedation and your new crown all happen in the same office, with no referral.

The tooth is fully numbed with local anesthesia before treatment begins, so most patients feel pressure rather than pain, and the pain that brought you in usually eases once the inflamed pulp is out. Each treatment is priced at your personalized consultation, because the work differs: a molar has more canals than a front tooth, a tooth treated before needs retreatment, and a weak tooth needs a post and a crown. Your treatment plan shows every step and its cost before anything starts, and your insurance, 0% financing through Cherry and our in-house membership plans can all help.

Coverage depends on your plan. We accept PPO plans and most carriers, including CIGNA, MetLife, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Delta Dental and GEHA Connection Dental. No Medicaid, DMO or HMO plans accepted. We work with your insurance to ensure you receive the maximum benefit.

Yes. Same-day emergency root canals are available at both offices. When the complete root canal has to wait for a later visit, a pulpotomy typically relieves the pain first.

Lingering hot or cold sensitivity, pain when you bite, a swollen gum or a bump on it, or a tooth that has darkened. Some teeth show no signs at all, which is why the diagnosis rests on an exam with digital x-rays, not on pain alone.

A second cleaning and sealing of a tooth that was treated before and became reinfected through new decay, a crack or a leaking crown. Dr. Godko examines the tooth with x-rays and tells you whether retreatment, a new crown or an extraction fits. When retreatment alone isn’t enough and it is appropriate for your case, an apicoectomy (root-end surgery) removes the infected tip of the root and seals it to help save the tooth, typically with local anesthesia.
