How NightLase Quiets Snoring Without Surgery

NightLase gently tightens the soft tissue of the throat and soft palate so it vibrates less at night, which reduces snoring. At Deluxe Dentistry & Esthetics, NightLase is part of a full dental practice, and your care starts with a personalized consultation.

Inside the treatment

Firmer Tissue, an Airway That Stays Open

As you sleep, the soft tissues of your mouth and throat relax and can partly block the airway. The tissue vibrates as air passes, and the result is snoring, difficulty breathing at night and poor quality of sleep.

During each session, the laser is applied to the soft palate and the tissue at the back of the mouth. As that tissue firms up over the series, it is less likely to collapse while you sleep, so snoring gets quieter and less frequent.

When it could be sleep apnea

If Your Snoring Could Be Something More

Snoring shows that breathing is obstructed and can point to sleep apnea, though occasional snoring doesn’t necessarily mean you have it. Snoring at night, carrying extra weight and waking up tired are common risk factors. Alcohol close to bedtime, sleeping on your back, a blocked nose and enlarged tonsils can all make snoring worse.

Share your concerns with the team so your risk can be reviewed. If you are at high risk, Deluxe refers you to a sleep study center for a proper diagnosis, and Dr. Godko coordinates with your physician. NightLase is a snoring treatment, not a cure for sleep apnea.

NightLase® is a non-surgical laser treatment for snoring, developed by Fotona. Gentle laser heat stimulates new collagen in the throat and soft palate, which tightens the tissue and increases the size of the airway, so the throat is less likely to collapse while you sleep.

Most patients feel only a gentle warmth as the laser treats the tissue of the throat and mouth, and no anesthesia is needed.

No. NightLase is a treatment for snoring, not for sleep apnea. Sleep apnea is diagnosed and managed with your physician, and if your symptoms point to it, Dr. Godko refers you for a sleep study.

Results vary from patient to patient. The tightening effect gradually fades over time, so maintenance sessions are typically recommended to keep snoring down.

NightLase is typically done as a series of three sessions, spaced a few weeks apart. Dr. Godko confirms your plan at your personalized consultation.

No. There are no incisions, sutures or anesthesia and no special preparation before or after, so you can resume your daily activities right after each session.

NightLase is priced at your personalized consultation, where Dr. Godko reviews your snoring and sleep history and builds your treatment plan, so you know your cost before the first session. You can pay with 0% financing through Cherry, and our in-house membership plans are available too.

We accept PPO plans and most carriers, including CIGNA, MetLife, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Delta Dental and GEHA Connection Dental. No Medicaid, DMO or HMO plans accepted. We work with your insurance to ensure you receive the maximum benefit.
